I'm clearly still very new to this fragrance thing, but enjoying the new experiences. B&B strikes again!

Have read all the comments in varying threads about this scent, and it seems fairly polarizing. Tried my sample this AM for the firt time, and 4-5 hours later am still enjoying this. Also got from LOML. I've learned here that first impressions can sometimes change, so we'll have to see how it does on another occasion, but so far so good.

Discovered Hew Haarlem this weekend and now this. Not sure my budget can handle my tastes!

It's amazing how a nice fragrance can change your mood.

Just wait until you find the perfect evening time scent that you can wear when you retire for the evening.

I got the sampler pack from Bullgoose of the C&S scents and so far love all of them EXCEPT the Cuba. Both my 14 year old and I tried it and we both scented something akin to a fecal smell that was not pleasant underneath the rest of it. Now I love Oud (am wearing Agar Aura's Bhavana right now) and so a little barnyard doesn't bother me, but the Cuba's version was not the pleasant, familiar smell that I love in Oud, but something else.

Of course, scent is the very archetype of ymmv, so feel free to wear in good health.

Based on what I had read, that is sort of what I was expecting, but was pleasantly surprised. I've still not tried the Vetiver from that sample pack yet.

The spicy tobacco notes found in Cuba are terrific. C&S also has a great take on a traditional scent with their O&C.

So that its a matter of record, I did not praise Cuba. As for the Veg, it's still all strokey chin concerning my choosing.

I think Cuba is foul...and once someone mentioned the fecal note in a prior thread, it became unwearable for me.

I've smelled the veg at Merz-- never applied it....call me chicken. Love Cuba, though. My only 100+ dollar bottle ever purchased, wife likes it too.

I would take the New Haarleem over the Cuba any day

I keep complaining to the GF about how the neighbor must have put manure on his lawn and I was tired of smelling it. She did not smell anything until I came close to give her a surprise hug and. I was then informed the manure smell was coming from me I love the other scents from the sampler and have just place an order for O&C but am leaving Cuba alone.

I didn't know anything about the Cuba when I ordered the samples. My son picked it up right away...I mean in under a second. He had to go wash it off. But as you say, the rest of them are fantastic.

I think Cuba is the best of the C&S fragrances I've tried, but I'm leery of using it because I'm worried that others may detect the "fecal" note.

Don't disagree. I could probably go for a full bottle of the New Haarlem, but Cuba only if I can find a decant.

I have to believe that there must be enough people out there that like this a lot, though. I can't see C&S continuing to make something that won't sell.

I definitely get the 'fecal' note from Cuba but fortunately it fades pretty quickly. As lots of people have said, I think the note is really a fermented vegetal note from the tobacco/cigar accord - but if you (or others around you!) pick it up as fecal, it's fecal.

That said, I love Cuba and it's one of the few scents I've gotten a (positive) comment from a stranger on one day when I had over-applied. I was very self conscious of the scent cloud I was throwing.
