Cuba vs. Havana

Which do you prefer and why?

I wore Cuba for the first time today(C&S sampler). I like both,but prefer the Cuba, mainly because the Havana has a harshness to it that can be offputting. The Cuba seems smoother and more refined.

I wish I had more of the Cuba.

Havana because it is a much bigger, more complex, more evocative of many things scent, which seems more versitile to me than Cuba. I like that it continues Aramis accords, and thus reminds me of Aramis, but is very different than Aramis, too.

I like Cuba--for that matter I love virtually all C&S scents--but it seems to be mostly just mint, tobacco, and rum. I like the "dirtiness" of it. But overall it seems rather simple and to evoke, nicely, Cuba or other parts of the Caribbean, but that is about it. A darn good scent on a summer evening out. Whereas I would wear Havana is many more contexts.

I remain undecided whether the current, sort of re-release version of Havana is harsher than the vintage versions.

i have montana. it's one of my favorites. have not tried havana though. i was not impressed with cuba.
