Crystal Deodorant stick stopped working? Is this normal?

I've been using the Crystal deodorant stick for a few months now, and I've found it to work quite well. Lately it seems like when I rub it under my arms, nothing comes off the stick and onto my skin, and a while later I can detect a little odor. Do these things go bad ever? It's pretty much just an alum block in stick form, isn't it?

Mine's been working fine for about 2 years (just at the end of it now). It functions as my pit stick and alum block. I already have a replacement under the sick.

Yeah, this thing will last forever. I can see getting two years out of this easy.

Try burnishing the end with sandpaper, maybe. Might have a soap glaze or something on it. But a longer wetting time and more rubs in the pits ought to do the trick.

Shaving the pits every week or two helps, too. (HINT: Don't try to get BBS!)

After wetting and using, I also rinse off the end of the stick under a gentle stream of cold water and wipe with a square of tissue. Even after washing your pits, some bacteria may still be present either on the skin or hair, and can be deposited onto the stick. The stick then re-deposits the bacteria onto your pits next time the stick is used and could cause the stinkies.

I got the idea from an old wiseman and it seems to work for me, I've never had a problem with odor, even during the hottest, funkiest days.
I also agree with the pit shave.

I've been using this fine product. I can't understand how it wouldn't work as long as it's used right out of the shower with slightly wet pits.

I've been using the crystal stick for will over 20 years. Of course not the same one, they do wear down, and I've never had any problems at all. I really wet the stick and rub it up and down quite a few times. I've found that just going over the pits once or twice doesn't work well, but really applying it takes care of any odor and even takes care of any wetness.
