Cryogenic treatment?

I had a random thought today. There is a cryogenic metal treatment outfit here in town. They use a rather interesting process involving liquid nitrogen to harden steel. I am not clear on all the metallurgical details, but I used to know a guy who had a pocket knife done by them. That thing was practically impossible to dull. After reading through the thread about the little wilkie that could, I got to wondering what might happen with a DE blade treated in such a manor. I might actually wander up there some time this week and see what they would charge me to put a couple in with a run and then test to see how long the blade lasts.

Timor DE blades (ArNav is PIFing a pack in another thread) are allegedly "PTFE coated, Ice-tempered stainless steel blades". Sounds like something related. I have a pack, but haven't gotten around to testing them thoroughly to identify anything special.

The phrase "Ice-hardened" was more prevalent back in the early days. It was used on the German version of the Wilkinson Sword Super Sword Edge, and it was used by Elka. The process was originally developed to help harden the soft (low to medium carbon) stainless steel used to make razor blades.
