I'm currently running just a TM Artisan Latigo/Canvas 3" strop.
It's a work of art; love it!
I currently do not own a "pasted strop" but would like to throw some green CrOX paste on something to refresh my straight.
1) Does CrOX (.5 micron green paste I do believe) work a much finer edge than the canvas? i.e. is the canvas a "finer grit" than the CrOX?
2) Assuming the canvas is indeed finer, can I put the paste on the inside of my latigo strop (in between it and the canvas) and basically have three strop options? i.e. inner latigo with paste, outer canvas, and outer latigo? Is this done commonly?
I'm just thinking I'd rather not buy a paddle strop if I absolutely don't have to...then again, if it's something I'm going to need eventually (maybe with some bigger micron pastes?) I should just bite the bullet and either make myself one or buy one.
