Cross Century Pen Help

Good Evening Everyone!

My name is Jerry and I have a A.T. Cross Century pen that I need some help with. The black plastic piece that is ontop of the pen came out and I tried to glue it back in and could not do it with my hands.

Is there anyone on here that can clean up the pen and put the black plastic piece back in?

I called Cross and they said they do not repair pens anymore they just send a new one. I would like to have it repaired because the pen means a lot to me. My dad gave it to me when I graduated high school.

I have one that I have had since Junior High School, the black plast cap fell out years ago , must be something that happens with them , it is now my casual Cross pen .
