What's new

Couple of recent ebay horse and shell finds

Found a couple of strops on ebay the other day, an old Roma which was rejuvinated with leather cleaner (William Hunter Equestrian Belvoir Leather Balsam) and then sanded with wet and dry 800 to 7000 grit. There were a few nicks on the original finish side so I turned over and sanded the rough side which wasn't badly cut, now its much smoother than the original finish side.

Also picked up a nice fully loaded cordovan shell and linen strop at a decent price for future use, I just couldn't say no 🙂

Looks like good work, congrats!
Thanks, I started using the NM and I found it easier to use than the cheaper ones I had before. It's longer so the arc of my arm movement fits easily into the length if that makes sense.

I may use the smaller horsehide for my kitchen knives 🙂 (I've sanded loads of wood, metal, glass in the past so its nice to know you can do the same with leather)
