Couple new additions

Yesterday I was perusing a few local antique shops in hopes of feeding the RAD. Found a few interesting prospects but nothing that really jumped out at me. I was getting ready to walk out of the door of the third shop when I spotted a couple open combs sitting in a cabinet. They looked terrible but were reasonably priced at $4 each. I also didn't want to go home empty handed, so I purchased both of them. After a bit of research it seems I now have a 1921 Gillette New Improved Big Fellow and a Gillette New Bostonian that I couldn't date exactly, could be anytime between 1929-1941. Pretty decent for $8 I'd say. I've spent some time tonight doing some cleanup. They aren't finished yet but considering how horrible they looked initially, I'm pretty happy with the progress.

Thanks! These are my first open combs, so I haven't had the opportunity to shave with one yet. Looking forward to giving them a try.

I don't have a case for it and didn't realize that was part of Bostonian criteria. From the bit of research I did and photos I found, most were calling similar razors Bostonians. Exact details were a bit murky though. Thank you for clearing that up for me, I still have quite a bit of learning to do.

Thanks guys, too funny. If somebody came to my door with some nice DE's, then I might as well just hand them my wallet. Not that there's much in it these days. I haven't even started on brushes yet
