I occasionally bring it up and I was surprised to find out one of my co-workers said he shaves with a straight edge. Surprised because he is 25 years old (I'm 30 not that much more!) and didn't use a cartridge razor. I asked what sort of straight edge he uses, how he uses it, and why...
Basically says its what his dad used, it feels better and is more cost effective. He mentioned that his straight edge cost $300 and the blade was made out of "silver". I'm not sure if he's right but I was skeptical since silver seems like it would be to malleable to be effective.. but I'd never heard of silver being used in straight edges.. couldn't really even find anything online about that sort of blade edge material. Maybe would day I'll visit him and check it out.
The other co-worker doesn't use either but has expressed interest in the double edge... I gave him a couple websites (Westcoast Shaving, Amazon).. also mentioned that in Germany they sell a plastic DE razor by Wilkinson Sword for around 5€.
I am tempted to buy him a cheap kit offbase (WS DE Razor 5€, Brush 4€, Palmolive Cream 1€.. just to get him started...
