What would you pick as a daily driver in California?

The coupe. Convertibles look great but have too much road noise. Though, you can get a removable hard top for the Corvette and then you'll have both.

I voted convertible, but it does depend on where in CA you are. SoCal, yeah, drop that top. I happen to like the lines better on the coupe this year, but driving top down in nice weather is figgen sublime. I'm in CT, so my vote for daily driver is (and has been) a Subaru.

Def coupe. Maximize performance and minimize moving parts. Nothing sucks more then a broken rag top when it starts to drizzle unexpectedly (plus they weigh more and limit the top speed).

I like the lines of the coupe better. Open roads are rare these days, getting stuck in traffic with the top down would not appeal to me.
You could always buy both and put the one you like the least up on the B/S/T.:biggrin1:

Not a convertible fan.

I voted coupe, convertibles just don't do it for me.

Convertible. You wouldn't be buying a corvette if all you wanted was a comfortable ride. It's pretty safe to assume you're buying it because you want to enjoy the experience of driving it. And for that the drop-top is king. Unless you're taking it to the track to actually race I doubt the relatively small performance difference is going to be noticeable, and modern convertible tops don't suffer from the issues of road noise and leaking nearly as much as they used to.

Do the new vettes have the glass cap that came off? I used to have a 2001 and that kind of gave you the best of both worlds. If not, I'd say no convertible. Those tops start to look ratty after a while.

Im in Stobes camp. I have a BMW Hardtop convertible and road noise is not an issue. I had a 2002 Toyota Solara convertible, rag top, and yes, road noise could be a problem but only if you want total quiet. The benefits of a summer night and then driving with the top down, windows up, in 60 degrees in say February is great also. If your car allows for a windscreen, get it. I did not realize it with the Solara, but the wind comes over the windshield, hits the back seat and seat rests and then comes up right behind your neck and shoulders. My 335i has a windscreen and can make the difference in enjoyable vs. barely tolerable in 50 plus weather.

Depends what the long term goal with it is...keeping it stock...cruiser...Convertible.
Modding...with the occasional trip to the dragstrip... Coup
