Correct case for the '52 Super Speed?

Wondering which case is correct for the Super Speed of 1952, specifically, an X-3 black tip. Is it the notched red styrene case, or the blue case? Per Mr Razor's site, I am not certain. I see both of the above shown in 1951, and none in 1952. Anyone?

T Rick, Sir,

I find placing the Super Speed razors made between 1949 and 1955 in their correct cases somewhat frustrating. When I first started collecting my goal was to collect every year and style Super Speed from 1947 to 1960 and in it's correct case. It's fairly easy from 1947 to 1950 and 1955 to 1960. But there is a grey area between 1950 and 1955. I generally find that Achim gets it right but he doesn't cover every year just every major razor type. MTgrayling put out a post in the Shave Den in 2008 only identifying the different Super Speed types and their cases. However I don't think he got the blue case right or the red case from 1954. So what I did was spend a lot of time trying to fill in the blanks. I spent about 4 months checking every source I could but mostly checked ebay looking for razor and case sets that looked original and that repeated. I think I got it down pretty good but there is no clear cut time line that Gillette followed when making changes. The fuzzy areas cover what case the V3 SS was in, if any. When the blue case was introduced and how many years did Gillette use the bright red case seen with 1954 sets. While it's a little frustrating at times it's also fun. And of course us old retired guys have the time to play.

It's the dark blue case.

Thanks guys! :thumbup1: I'll watch for one, this is for the birth year Black Tip I'm PIFing to a friend. I just picked up a notched red SS case (which I need for my collection anyway) and wondered if it might be correct. Now, I'll but it with my '51 SS (pretty sure I've got one...).
