I've seen similar messages in the past related to Outlook, or possibly other mail applications.

What system are you using? What applications are running? If you're using Outlook, does this message come up when Outlook is closed or only when open?

It looks like it's a popup dialog that isn't being allowed to display as HTML, so it's been converted to ASCII in the window. It reads like it's actually part of an AVG process, could be AVG got corrupted, or is being fought by one of the other antivirus apps. You can try temp disabling AVG, if the error goes away, reinstall a fresh copy and go from there.

You should only run 1 active AV monitor. If you are running more than one you are opening up your system as they will be in conflict and not effective.

Pick one and disable all of the others.

you can run any of them to do a stand alone scan (start them and manually scan the system) but only have 1 as your active monitor (watch for nasties while you surf)

nah he can run avg and malwarebytes together just fine malwarebytes is designed to run with other av's. ccleaner is simply a system cleaner to remove cookies history and registry errors etc...webroot secure anywhere can also run alongside other av's as well

i have seen this happen before. a few questions first though. what os, does this happen while a browser is open or simply just pop open in windows? i mean no offense but imo avg is far from what i would recc as a good av, and a lot of times causes trouble for many especially its web toolbar it installs. its not the worst but there are many far better even free ones.

without seeing this system the first thing i would say is its caused by avg, possibly the toolbar for safesearch or the add / web filter. imo i would uninstall avg. reboot into safe mode and then run the avg removal tool to remove the left overs (avg does not uninstall very cleanly it leaves a ton behind) find the one for your version of avg here: http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities

reboot again run hitman pro from here: http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/

see if the results say anything. if you need further assistance shoot me a pm. i do this for a living (been doing this for almost 20 years) and could always take a look remotely also for you to see if i can figure out where its coming from.

those posts are pretty old and i have many clients who run both with no problems. i have thousands of clients and see avg and malwarebytes running together on a handle of them fine. now another actual av i would agree with you like norton, avast, avira, eset, bitdefebder, f-secure, gdata etc etc you can not run those (and many more) alongside avg or you shouldnt at least. i do see some who do and still and they bring the system in and i find 4 or 5 on there and short of slowing the system to a crawl they were not having any real issues but the speed of the system.

.....MASTERSHAKE...Thanks for the input...I use AVG ,and have used Avast in the past due to their high rating on pcworld.com and cnet.com...what are better free AV softwares ?...also: what does surfright do ?

That is a SSL cert warning. It is possible that their cert has expired.

Check with your ISP (service provider) if your email address is with them or check with your web hosting provider (if you are using a domain name to send mail from) and tell them about the error. They may not know that that mail server has an expired certificate

after some thought do you have the avg spam / email filter installed (i dont see avg that often anymore but i believe it installs a email filter or outlook plugin)? if so try to disable avg then test, if you get the same try to uninstall it then try again. you may be having the issue because of the ssl warning if avg is seeing that and or avg simply screwing it up. are you using a alias address for the pop3 server name? do you use a dns service or anything like that? is this part of a network or the main home pc etc.. does this happen only on your home isp? as turtle said it could just be a error with your mail server but im not sold on that yet.

double check your server info for this address man make sure its entered correctly.

if that doesnt work try to create a new identity (file-identities-add new identity),

last i can quickly think of is and im not sure if you are using outlook express or outlook from ms office. if you are using outlook from ms office try to uninstall it and do a reinstall you can easily save your email setting by copying the outlook folder in documents to another area then after reinstall you can import the info back in. if outlook express built into win xp you may have to go a bit deeper and do a repair of it. there are other things i can advise but not sure how technical you are or how deep you want to dive into the issue after all this. lmk

restart your computer in "Safe Mode"..press the F10 or which ever F key to get to the menu black screen...see if this helps when you do what you did normally to get your errors..

its f8 to get to safe mode. that probably will not help because it doesnt load all the items or drivers as when you boot normally. need to get to the root of the issue

Well...thanks to all this good advice from my brothers in shaving,I decided to go the easy route first..I eliminated AVG and Malwarebytes from my computer (using revo uninstaller in advanced mode) ,and replaced them with Avast and Emsisoft..The Emsisoft found a severe trojan, another severe malware ,and one medium risk malware, all 3 missed by the Avg and malwarebytes programs.Haven't had the pop up so far...but I will check on the "security certificate" matter, which by the info you guys have provided ,seems to be a non related problem...great to have so many guys with such a wealth of knowlege !

as i said i have seen this exact thing before. it was caused by avg in my experience. good for you to switch to avast imo WAY better than avg, if you need further help just shoot me a pm and ill be happy to give you a remote session n/c just let me know i own a company doing this every day and am a certified warranty tech for MANY brands as well as a programmer and beta / alpha tester for many companies and former robotics tech. also emsisoft is good but know it does have many false positives at times so it may detect something that is not really a virus and if that item is deleted you may have issues. just as a warning so be a bit more careful with emsisoft.
