Competition for the mighty midget?

I've got a tiny little vintage boar travel brush "Two Tix" made in UK 18mm knot x 43mm loft.

I've had it on my shelf looking pretty for a couple years and decided to try it out tonight. I gotta say it's possibly my favorite bowl lathering brush ever. Perfect size to run along the sides of a shallow dish and really work the lather to take advantage of the bowl.

I'd be eying the Mighty midget both in boar and boar/badger and considering getting both, but are there any other boars or mixed out there in the small size, other than the MM's and the Bambino's from Omega? Something even smaller than the midget would be ideal.

Also, I've seen the Mighty Midget mixed hair model number in three places. In one place it is clearly badger and boar, and the handle says badger and boar. In another it looks like it's just banded boar, is printed Pure Boar (but seller promises its mixed badger/boar and says you can tell by how it feels). In a third it looks exactly the same as the second place, but is listed as only banded boar. Anyone know the details of what exactly the differences are?

Have you got a picture of the brush? I've got one of those tiny boars out of a vintage shave kit aswell (possibly two tix even) and I've never used it, if it's the same as yours then I will definitely give it a whirl!

Used once, next to a fully broken in Semogue 1470.

Someone else here got one and posted about it a couple years back. Mentioned that the printing washes off. It does, the ink was running while I used it and it's only there because I took care to keep it as dry as possible while I was lathering. I considered covering it with shellac or nail polish or something but I'd rather not even though I would like to keep it.

That's a good looking little brush. I have just checked mine and it's not a Two Tix brush, it just says Made In England on the base and it has all blonde bristles, I will do a lather test with it later and see how it performs. I suppose the print would typically stay dry when used with the travel kit because the kits normally come with a shave stick meaning normally you use the brush for face lathering I suppose :)

Oh I had one of those awhile back. I think it's a Culmak.

I'd say the Grosvnor 404 boar/badger but it just doesn't feel the same as the Mighty Midge. How about a Vie-Long is smaller size? I have one and it did a nice job but the loft was horse. They have horse/badger combo and may have a boar/badger combo. http://www.giftsandcare.com/en/mixed-horse-badger-brushes/105-horse-badger-shaving-brush.html

Ahh that's a cool little brush. I may have to pick one up one of these days. Just bought 6 or 7 cheap little brushes to play with though so it must wait.

I really liked it. I didn't put it to my face though, so I can't comment on how it felt, but it worked great lathering in a shallow dish. I like face lathering though and the knot was a bit roughed up, so after I washed it a couple times I tossed it in a box and probably shipped it off with some other brushes/handles in an eBay sale.

Just did a clean on the brush and did a lather test aswell. It works really well and I reckon it will become my travel brush instead of taking my full size badger brush with me :)

I've never tried a Mighty Midget brush but there is definitely something to be said for these little vintage travel brushes
