Comparing 2008 and 2007 Menghai V93 Raw Pu-erh.

I have been drinking the 2008 Menghai V93 Premium Ripe Pu-erh tea. This was nice! Very dark, left a sweet like flavor as an aftertaste. This was my first Ripe that left a little gan on the tongue and back of the throat much like 2002 Hai Lang Hao "Mengku Wild Arbor" Raw (but not as much).
Question how does the 2007 Menghai V93 Raw Pu-erh Tea Tuo Cha compare to the 2008? I read the descriptions on JAS eTea, but wanted other thoughts…

Its light, crisp, and with some subtle floral notes. A touch of clean straw like flavors peep through in later infusions. When brewed correctly its smooth and highly enjoyable, I find it to have a high cha qi. When I first received it I had some bad brews. Like it picked up some bad odors. I left it to air out for a week and has transformed to one of my favorites.

Thank you. Light and crisp with a strong feeling of energy. I will have to place it on my wish list for my next order. It sounds just different enough from the 2008 it will make for a good comparison of both brews at the same time.
I take “a high cha qi” as a feeling of energy or just the overall feeling the tea gives you, am I close in my interpretation? I think cha qi can mean different things to different people.

Yup your spot on, for me cha qi is both the way it makes me feel plus the over all enjoyment of balanced flavors that makes your mouth water. :biggrin1:

I may be stating the obvious here but keep in mind that even though these teas are both labelled as V93, one is a ripe tea and one is a raw tea. They are both quite good in their own way but definitely different.
