Commodore X3 - 2 Band - First Impressions

I gave the X3 priority this morning... she just looked like a perfect brush to me... and I had to know, if she is...

I used Speick stick milled down in a bowl - by the way one of the best soaps I tried - and the X3 did not disappoint. The 2 band created creamy lather in no time and provided a gentle scrub when face lathering. Current Simpson 2 band has very soft tips paired with resilient hair that is perfect for face lathering soaps.

Within my 10+ Simpson 2 Bands there are slight variations in softness (different batches of hair even if sourced from a single supplier) but all are generally very soft (the D3 and 58 probably the softest). Differences in face feel are more driven by knot size, density, loft.

The X3 is a medium size, medium dense brush with a 24/48mm knot. Less dense than the 58 or D3. Flow through is exceptional though and the brush nicely flexes on the skin when face lathering. The handle design is very ergonomic and rivals my other favorite brush - the Eagle 2 Band...

All overall - a perfect brush!!! Some pics...
