Coming back to soaps after a long absence

I have been using creams exclusively for about 8 months with great results in most cases (Castle Forbes is the best I have found). Nonetheless, I decided to revisit soaps, but now I am spoiled by the terrific slickness and cushioning of Castle Forbes's Lavender (and to only a slightly lesser degree, the creams from D R Harris).

So I am wondering if there are soaps out there that can match the quality of the best creams. I don't mind the extra effort and will pay what it costs to get the best results. The best one I tried previously was Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet. Suggestions?

BTW - has anybody tried Mitchell's Wool Fat as a body soap?

When members talk about shave cream I always think of the cream you find in a tube and squeeze out like Proraso Sandlewood, or Arko Maximum Comfort Shave Cream. QCS has shave creams but I consider it to be more like a soft soap or a what many would call a Croap (In between a Cream and Soap) such as RazoRock XXX, Fresco, and Cella.

Mike's Natural Soaps http://www.mikesnaturalsoaps.com is another one that gets great reviews and as some of the best ingredients for your skin that you will find.

Absolutely! I have both of these and rate them equal to Tabac for quality of lather. Great scents too!

Having tried many, many soaps, I've landed on Mystic Water as my all-time favorite. If you want to continue down the Lavender route, Mystic Water has Lavender Lime and Wild Lavender; both are great scents. The performance is amazing and while the creams you've used are top notch, I have a sneaky suspicion that you'll prefer these soaps. I love citrus type scents and the Orange Vanilla and Coconut Lime Verbena are awesome.

Thanks, gents. I am going to try some of the suggested products. I have an unopened puck of MWF that I'll try tomorrow. One other thing that I have now that I didn't have before is a couple of brushes with some backbone. My older brushes are silvertips and I think they were just too soft to work well with soap.

I like trying new products and it's a lot cheaper to try new soaps than to buy new razors!
