What's new

Colonel Conk 721. My first DE

I finally decided to get a new way to shave. I got a Colonel Conk #721 after some folks here said it looked close to an EJ89 and should be a decent beginners razor. Here's a couple closer shots of it..

Ive shaved with it a half dozen times. With nothing but a Mach 3 to compare it to, I'd say it's a decent beginners razor. No trips to the ER with Gillette Super Platinums, and a DFS every time. I swapped in a Shark and had a rough go, but there were other variables, so I can't fully blame the Shark. I liked it because of the handle color, but it comes in black, red and blue as well. For $35 shipped with five Gillette Super Platinums I figured I couldn't really go wrong!

Is there a trick to posting pics? I've tried every format I can think of. Hmmm.... When I click "edit post" they come up in the text box, but not when I view the post directly off of the site.

Looks like a four inch handle.
Seems pretty hefty, but once again, I have no other reference. I can weigh it if anyone is interested.

That's a great looking razor!

The head looks like a standard issue Edwin Jagger/Muhle 89. The handle, too, looks a bit like my wife's EJ Chatsworth.

It's already not my last. I have a contract tech on its way here for a Cerakote refinish just to try THAT out. I sense a very slippery slope here...

The best part is getting OTHER people into this. As they've seen me NOT carve my face off they've gotten a lot more interested. Hopefully I'll get one of the various PIFs and get them started too!
