Collection Close-ups #2

Hi
WOW! What a great collection!!!
Question What kind of blade boxex were included with the 1903-1906 double ring? Were they "Gillette/ Gillette" or were they "Sharp/ Dull? Or were both used?
Thanks
Barry

My favorite, what kind of Gillette razor is it? Would love to find something similar. Anyone know where I can find a blade box similar to this? I've tried searching ebay but I'm unsure what the "correct" name of the box would be so searching is proving difficult.

That is the Bostonian. It's a great razor. When the razor is in the case and you open the case, the razor lifts up so it's more prominent. The razor itself is the New Improved and is the same as the New Standard and Richwood.

Both were used. The Times Square sets differed from the Chicago sets during the same time period.

Every sunday morning at a flea market near there is a similar box with the blade box but no razor!!But that one has no engraving...

Oldguy, only a curiosity you use or only is for admire? thanks.
PD:wonderful stuff

Most of what you see is for show except for a couple of the open comb razors I use from time to time. What you don't see is the 25 or so razors in my shaving rotation which are duplicates.

The Times Square set you see here has a 1905 Double Ring and was received exactly as you see it here from another collector at B&B. I wondered about the blade boxes as well. Thanks Guido. You're a wealth of information.
