Cobra problem

I recently purchased the coveted " Cobra Classic " and had a problem with the blade not sitting behind the little tabs that hold it under the head.
Classic Shaving was exceptional with their customer service and sent out a replacement and told me to hold on to the one I owned until i received the new one. then I was instructed to place the "Old" one in the same box the new one came in with the prepaid UPS label and send back....:thumbup1:That's what I call Customer Service.........

But wait..... the new Cobra has the same issue:001_huh: The blade will sit flat and behind the tab on one side but will sit up and not lie flat on the other ..just like the last. I'm not sure if the casting was to filled in by chrome and won't allow the blade to sit flat or what..

So to circumvent the back and forth of another return I took out the old Dremul..trust me I was very hesitant but i believed if I damaged it beyond repair maybe I could buy a replacement mount. I seems ok now but I haven't taken a practice run.

When I contacted CS the first time I asked if they could just replace the lower blade mount? They don't carry that in a replacement part..which i thought was stupid seeing how there are allen screws on either end and it would be simple to replace.

I'm just a little disappointed due to this razor costing $140 it should be perfect..

Anyone else have a similar problem ??

I noticed when I put a blade in once that one side wasn't sitting behind the tab but it was easy to pop it back in correctly.

Sorry to ask a dumb question but you're using the professional blades in the black pack right and not the professional supers?

they sent me the Supers...stupid question coming back at you... is there a difference??

I think it's meant to work only with the professional blades, not the supers.

It takes some fiddling to get the blade to fit behind the tab. I find that pulling the lower section out while raising it up helps the blade set up correctly.

I'm pretty sure Monkeyboy is correct regarding the Professional Supers.

I totally agree with the comment about how to align the blade.

Don't give up. I've been using my Cobra Classic for over a year and still love it!

Yup.. you are correct I just reread the website and it says to only use the Pro's not the Super so It's their fault for sending me the wrong blades and mine for not double checking I guess:thumbdown

Yeah, they are slightly different widths so I bet that's your problem.

Also for cobra users, Smallflower has the blades for $13.50 a pack right now instead of $24 everywhere else.

Update...
I sent an email to Classic last evening explaining how I didn't realize the blades they sent me were the wrong ones and Before I realized their mistake ,I in my infinite wisdom modified the holder on the new one to accommodate the Super blade.
A real live person called me back today apologizing and told me to keep the original, which I hadn't shipped out yet , and to mail back the modified one in the postage paid box. The kind women also told me she would mail out the " Correct " blades for the razor...

Again , I have nothing but high praise for this company and it's customer service.:thumbup::thumbup:

I highly recommend Classic Shaving..
