What's new

Coast to coast AM anybody out there?

Anyone out there listen to Coast to Coast AM? I really love the show and am able to listen to it at work. It really helps the nights go by much faster.

It's nice because it seems like now the shows have more diverse topics. It used to seem to me all it was was aliens and sort of more crazy stuff. While I enjoy listening to that, I have enjoyed the more earthbound topics and conspiracies. They have had a lot of good stuff about gun bans, central banks, archeology, and just a ton of interesting stuff.

I like all the shows, some stuff really gets you thinking, other shows that don't really "do it" for me are still interesting. I sort of like to figure out how someone comes up with the conclusion they do even if I don't agree with it.

I figured since we were all contrarians and such there may be some more coasters out there.

I've been listening to it for years, all the way back to Art Bell's days. I really like the long format interviews that you just can't get on television. The subjects are sometimes a little over the top, but they're always interesting and I usually learn something. George Noory just celebrated his 10th year as host last night.

Yeah, the long format is great, it's like listening to someone having an interesting conversation, not just the sound bite crap that passes for radio/news/tv today.

As long as you understand that 95% of what is discussed on this show is b.s. I used to listen to it when Art Bell did the show, but only for "entertainment" purposes. Some people believe this show and Snoory in particular are nothing more than purveyors of disinformation. If you are a christian this show is quite distasteful.

When I worked 3rd shift, I listened all the time. Now I have to be at work by 6:00a.m. and don't listen at all. It was very entertaining radio. Some of my favorite shows were around halloween.

I started listening around the time that George Noory became the full-time host, so that makes it 10 years now. I used to like it a lot more than I do now, but after a while, it seems like he has the same guests over and over and over again and they talk about the same stuff I've heard dozens of times before.

Still, its the best thing on that time of night. I usually fall asleep half-way through, but luckily, the station I tune to, KFI-AM on I-Heart radio, repeats the show so its still playing when I wake up. I wish I could get it clearly on my car radio for those nights when I'm out and about that time of night, but it fades in and out no matter which station I pick.

My all-time favorite guest is R. Gary Patterson, who does Rock-n-Roll Trivia.
My least favorite guest is Glynnis McCant, The Numbers Lady. She is so full of crap.

Among the weekend hosts, I like George Knapp the best. Ian Punnet has some good shows, some not-so-good.

I've tried calling in many times, but only got through one time when Art Bell was interviewing a modern-day Vampire.
I've also sent George many Fast Blasts online, but never had him ask the guests any of my questions.

I've been hooked on the show since the mid-90's. I am a HUGE fan of Art Bell and it has taken me many years to warm up to George. Art's intellect cut like a sharp knife along with a sharp wit. Noory - not so much. I actually prefer some of the weekend hosts, including Knapp, to Mr. Noory.

Yeah, I doubt that ol George would break triple digits on the Sanford-Binet.

I prefer the original Art Bell C2C as compared to the current C2C. Of all the current C2C hosts...George Knapp is by far the best I feel. He is very good, right up there with Art, IMO.

I used to be a streamlink member and listen to the MP3 files later. The commercials absolutely enraged me during live broadcasts.

Eventually my backlog of episodes began to build up faster than I could listen to them. I haven't listened live in years, but I do enjoy the show.

I even bought a CC Radio plus which is a top notch product.

Once, several years ago, I engaged in an email dispute with Linda Moulton Howle. I was annoyed by her constant references to content on her website on air only to discover her website was subscription only. When I contacted her to suggest she may mention this detail when plugging her website on air she politely explained the overhead involved and the honestly minimal fees needed to register. In my youth of the time I replied with a highly inappropriate tirade of accusations and insults. She replied with impressive professionalism and composure. She stated that she would take my opinion and suggestions into into account the next time they evaluated their website for changes.

I was totally ashamed and embarrassed by my crass remarks and her gracious response. I've since seen her on many TV shows.

While I never called into Coast to Coast, I did enjoy open lines and Ghost to Ghost episodes. My favorite guests were Zecharia Sitchin and Michio Kaku.

The Mel's Hole replays still give me chills.

The variety and diversity kept the show fresh.

Art had the best bumber music too.

I'll have to check on the latest episodes.

I still receive an email newsletter that I read often.

I've always wanted one of those, but I have too many Shortwave radios already that I'm not using. When (NOT IF) I win the lottery, I'm going to get one of these, but the radio I really want is the Sangean ST-909 Super. They're not being made anymore, but I'm sure I'll be able to find one somewhere, although it will probably be selling at a premium price well above MSRP.

You raise a valid point. I've visited her website a few times, but it never dawned on me that it was a subscription site. LMH should at least do us the courtesy of moving current info that she is discussing out into the open, at least for the duration of the show and 24 hours after.

The Mel's Hole replays still give me chills.
The show that really scared me was when George Knapp talked about The Skinwalker Ranch. This was one of his earliest appearances on C2C, and the way he presented it scared the bejeebus out of me. Even years later, when he has revisited the topic, it sends chills up my spine.

The variety and diversity kept the show fresh.
Its not as fresh as it used to be, especially when George Noory is hosting. He keeps bringing back the same guests, and they keep repeating the same info.

Where do you subscribe to this? I got a newsletter from one of the fan-sites, but I had to cancel it because it was clogging up my mailbox and it really didn't have anything worth reading in it. Maybe the one you're reading is different from what I was getting back then.

Art Bell made this post a few days ago

Hi All,
I do not wish to string anybody along, stay tuned means just that. Until I was free in terms of non compete there was no
real way I could be on the air anywhere. Premiere has offered me a slot anytime I wish.....I do not wish.

Now that I can indeed return if I wish there is the matter of a venue, I have some offers I am thinking about but have not
decided on anything as of yet. There was a time that I did not want to compete with Coast because I had no wish to destroy
what I built, Premiere has almost managed to change my mind about that.

Doing a show means devoting your life to it, not just "phoning it in", examples of that can be heard nightly. So a decision to
proceed will have to be done right or not at all. This means the creative freedom is first along with the venue.

While doing Coast at one point, instead of taking more money I opted for a restriction on the number of commercial minutes,
a dumb move because as soon as I was gone they came back PLUS. I do what I do because I love it, not for the money.

So, I just now have come to the point that I CAN do something, if I will or not depends on the above. I hope this helps some
of you understand the process. I would rather do nothing than something half-assed.

I'd listen to Art again if he had a show somewhere. I think that the current version of C2C has lost all of the qualities that made it so interesting when Art was at the helm. These days, when I'm up late, I just listen to something on line.
