I was looking at some items on ebay and came across a boxed Clubman set featuring a free golf towel, talc, shave cream, and a product called Clubman Complete Aftershave. This is the first I've heard of the Clubman Complete. Can someone tell me about this product, or about this interesting boxed set? Thanks.

I've used Clubman Complete after shave in the past. In fact, I still have a full tube and just about a half tube in the drawer. I have'nt used it in a while. It works O.K. but there are far better after shave creams and lotions. It stings a bit upon application but that goes away quickly. The smell I can only describe as a light medicinal odor. It is absorbed quickly but can leave the skin with a gloss instead of a matt finish and after a while the skin can feel greasy.
I once bought the very kit you're talking about. The towel and talc are decent but the shave cream is totally useless. It does'nt lubricate well nor does it lather. It was like trying to shave with hand soap. After a few tries I threw the shave cream out. The talc I've used a few times during the summer months, it has the nice Clubman fragrance, similar to the Clubman after shave lotion.
Both the Clubman Complete after shave and the Shaving cream were discontinued a while back and I believe the kits that are popping up on ebay are fairly old stock. In fact the ones on ebay at present are from the same vendor I bought a kit from about a year ago for the exact same price.
I would'nt buy them again, but the towel and talc might be worth the price and you might like the after shave. The towel is a cheap terry cloth material, about 12" by 18" folded twice with a brass eye pressed in at one end and a brass colored ring through it, so it can be supposedly hung on a golf bag. The word "CLUBMAN" and the Clubman emblem are silkscreened in green lengthwise on the center of the towel so that when it's hung from the bag, it proudly proclames your choice of shave potions.
