Classic Shaving soaps

I received 3 pucks for Xmas from my daughter. One is Tannenbaum Pine and I was happy to have an alternative to Lightfoot's. It smells and lathers only slightly better than Lightfoot's, which is not well at all. The lather for the first pass was fair and poor for the second. Reading the reviews of other Classic soaps reveals similar experiences. I do get a good result, so I will use these soaps between shaves with great performing creams qnd triple milled soaps. Glycerin soaps just haven't performed as well for me. Looking forward to trying the Candy Cane!

Looks like I'll be able to try the Tabac soap, too! Nice gift that my in-laws found in a shop on Venice Ave., in Venice, FL.

It smells very much like the cream.

I use Tabac regularly and I think you will like this soap. It lathers rather effortlessly and keeps the face nice and soft after rinsing.

Congratulations on the thoughtful gifts from your family.

Most of the glycerin soaps I have had a great scent but usually ended up in the shower or given away.

You should enjoy the Tabac.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, especially from your daughter. I'm sure it's the most wonderful soap in the world. Enjoy and Merry Christmas.:biggrin1:

Super cool! My kids have picked up my wife's thoughtful gifting ability. I am a lucky guy, no doubt!

What's the name of the shop? I'm down in P.C. and there is next to nothing in this town... :(

It is called Bonnell's Boutique, 317 W. Venice Ave. I'll have to take a walk in there soon. She said they also had some soaps which only cost 2 or 3 bucks a puck. She thought that would be an inadequate gift and opted for the Tabac. Actually, I would have thought a stick of Arko to be a tremendously thoughtful gift! I wonder what other soaps they carry.
