Classic Shaving Creams

I have looked for threads like this and have not found one yet. I am looking for your input on what you think the classic standbys are in the shaving cream world. I think starting out with tried and true creams will help me get a general feel for creams. I shave with Col. Conk soap now, and like both bowl lathering and face lathering.

I already know that Palmolive, Proraso, and Tabac are favorites, but want to know what all of you think. All thoughts, suggestions, tips, etc. are welcome and much appreciated.

Speick. A true classic cream that delivers high performance at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

A classic high end cream with a bargain basement price is The Real Shaving Company. You can get this at Rite Aid and other pharmacies. At around $6 a tube it is a steal!

LaToja sensitive! Poraso (CO Bigelow) and body shop maca are the only good ones you can find easy. Another one from Detroit Metro, sounds like we need to set up another get together for the metro

I have been primarily a soap guy for the three years I've been retro shaving and found that you don't have to spend much to have great shaving cream. For instance I'll put Derby with any of them (I've only tried the lemon but love it). Speick is another great one. Also like Palmolive Classic (their lemon scent isn't as good as Derby IMO). Proraso is also very nice. Musgo Real Classic has lanolin (if "lanolina" in Portuguese means "lanolin"), but be advised that the Classic doesn't smell like the aftershave. Sir Irisch Moos has that great springtime scent and is a great cream. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the ones I've mentioned.

I'll second Real Shaving Company, for the $5-6 a tube its a steal, and a daily driver for me. I also love the Palmolive, and I will throw out the Godrej Lime.

I'll look into Real Shaving Company, and probably buy a tube soon. Next time I order some soaps, I'll throw in Proraso (if I can't find it at a store I happen upon), Speick, and Palmolive. Thanks for the recommendations guys, I will be looking for Real Shaving Company soon.

deruitem, I don't spend as much time on here as I should, and don't really know people but I'd love to go and meet up with some guys from here.

Keep the suggestions coming,
Connor

Real Shaving has been a fav for the few years for me. The Original is now in their "Classics" line. The A/S Balm is really really good too.
The only place I find them is Rite Aid. I think they are a UK brand.

FYI - Real Shaving Cream is made by Creighton's who makes creams for TOBS and GFT and many others. They also have their own higher end line called St. James of London which I don't think is available in the US. Also, just looking at their site, they now make what looks like a younger line called "Groomed."
