It could be that a lot of them were purchased just before MAP to take advantage of the lower prices and now they are coming back. Also, supply issues aside this is a good time to sell an unwanted Chubby to those that missed out buying before MAP and want a Chubby but can't bring themselves to pay the new prices. My guess is that Simpson saw a surge in sales around the price increase and transactions may have slowed now.
I've sold some of mine...only to replace them. Right now, I'm down to a Chubby 3 in Super and a Chubby 2 in 2 Band.
Chubby 1 Best was too small.
Chubby 2 Best was great - but redundant
Chubby 2 Super was great - but replaced by the 2 Band
Chubby 3 Best was very nice - but replaced at least temporarily by a Rooney Heritage 3XL
Chubby 3 Super is superb and not going anywhere.
Chubby 3 2 Band...I'm still looking for you!
I think a lot of guys are or were curious about these big, dense brushes. I suspect some found them too big and others decided they wanted a different chubby size or configuration. I own four and like them all. I also have three others on the way. I am sure that once I have all seven, I will end up selling one or two...probably my two Bests.
