Chubby firmness

Hello again,

I have a Simpson's Chubby and it is just a little too firm for my liking at the moment. I picked it for that very characteristic so I don't want to appear contrary by being opposed to that now but it would love to get the bristles slighter softer if possible - while still keeping the strength to easily lift soap off the puck.

I have followed out the advice on ambrose's thread (twice with this brush, in fact) but it is still every bit the same as when it arrived and I can't really see any physical changes at all for the effort.

Both my Edwin Jagger and Rooney have bloomed beautifully but this is a different character...

Any tips or help?

How long have you been using it? Time is your friend here -- the chubby can take some time to break in.

(ahem... is there no sense of humor in this place? c'mon guys, that's a pretty funny title for this thread all by itself.)

I agree, it took about a month before I felt that the brush had really broken in. Primarily the tips felt softer and were not as scritchy/scratchy and the bristles bloomed a bit. Judging by how the brush looks in the picture I'd say you haven't been using it long enough.

Think of it like a boar brush, the tips won't split but it will soften and bloom given more use and time. A month to six weeks of consistent use should do it.

Thanks fellas.

I guess it's a case of allowing it more time to break in, then.

The other two threw me off as they were easily bloomed. The Chubby is so densely packed with what are stiffer bristles anyway that it will probably take a few weeks or months for it to reach top condition.

All good things...

I gave up on these people! I used to make little jokes about threads like this but few seemed to get it, Or maybe my joke making is lame.

Anyway, here's my standard joke when someone asks about the firmness of their chubby:
"I think you can get pills for that now."
These are the jokes, people!

Are you kidding? I have been laughing since I read the thread title, just figured it was my immaturity showing through again. Glad to see I am not the only one around here!
