Chubby and Stubby

Would a comparably-sized Chubby and Rooney Stubby in 2-band be similar in feel and performance? Or is the similarity no more than "ubby"? I am operating under the obvious notion, true or not, that Rooney's Stubby line is meant to draw on the success of the Chubby line. Did someone say trademark infringement?

I also noticed that Rooney does not depart from their fan-shaped knot in 2-band, whereas Simpsons will change to a bulb shape knot for 2-band brushes.

Anyway, if anyone is familiar with both, please elaborate.

I owned a M & F 2XL and currently own a Rooney 3XL Stubby - and have a Simpson Chubby 2, 2-band too (see what I did there?). The Rooney will have a stiffer backbone and the Simpson will have softer tips, unless you're lucky enough to find an old Rooney with their classic "gel-like" tips, in which case the tips will be nearly identical. You can't go wrong with either - I love them both!
