What's new

Christmas PIF!

So in the spirit of the season i’d like to offer up this 1928 Gillette Tuckaway. It’s not much of a specimen but none of the combs are bent, the usual cracking is not too bad and the razor shaves just fine. I’ll take care of the shipping (ConUS only.) To make things interesting i figured i’d post up something of a challenge: The first person to tell me WHY this bottle of Dickinson’s Witch Hazel is unique wins! I’ll offer one hint: The answer lies in my profile. I’ll ship out the razor after the new year to whomever wins. Good luck to all and merry christmas!

Very generous. You both reside in East Hampton Connecticut!

The first post?! I thought it’d take a bit to connect the dots but B&B never fails to surprise hahaha. We are both (the bottle and myself) located in East Hampton but that’s not entirely what makes it unique. It is part of the answer though. @retiredguns you’ll take the prize if no one manages to guess the rest by 12/31. The second part is a much tougher task and i’ll actually be shocked if someone gets it. So as a hint i’ll say this: It involves WHERE said bottle was bought. And it wasn’t directly from the factory itself. Cheers to all and merry christmas!

I probably should not have said he won, as it is not my thread, but as far as my research goes, he is correct. Better luck to us next time, as to me, that is a very nice razor!

yeah well at least we know they were not both first made in the same year.... i dont think the OP is 150 yrs old....

in springfield?

I'm in, as the others have commented you are both in CT, but the picture appears to show a warped or twisted bottle.
