I was asked to bring a dessert and thought to bring chocolate covered bacon. Then it occured to me: is it even a dessert, or is it part of the main course?

Chocolate covered bacon sounds like the only thing you need.
Dessert, we had it after Christmas dinner this year... after pie.
Is it even edible? Never heard of it but sounds like a strange comnbination to me.

Bacon is only two things: A main, and a must. 
If you think Chocolate covered bacon is a main course then change it up and do Bacon covered Chocolate

I have it for dinner nearly every thursday at Nutty Steph's. THe only thing better than fresh local bacon dipped in melted chocolate is probably really good sharp cheddar dipped in the same chocolate. I would never have guessed just how good cheese dipped in chocolate is. It's just something you have to try to understand.
I voted for main course, but it would also serve well as an appitizer, soup, salad and dessert.
some one needs to make a snickers bar where the peanuts are bacon!

I like chocolate and I love bacon, but I have no desire to mix them.
