Hello, friends:
I would like to take a moment to brag on my brother, and show off the newest and most precious item in my shave den:
This razor that is highlighted in the middle of the photo features a custom-turned handle by my little brother, Austin, who is a senior in northwestern Ohio. He crafted the handle for extra credit in one of his machining courses.
It certainly isn’t a UFO, or a Cooncat Bob creation…but, I think it is an impressive first effort from a young gun that knows very little about traditional safety razors. To be honest, I don’t think he would know much about any razor…let’s just say that the family beard gene skipped him.
Of all of my legacy razors, this set up is now my overwhelming favorite - it is an old, bulky CLIX head, with a big fat meaningful steel handle. Simple, yet elegant.
Plus, to make life even better - he is already asking questions to start planning a second, more refined edition.
Thanks for taking a second to look at my new set-up, and please...hold your offers. I wouldn't accept anything less than $1M for the handle.
