Ceramic boar shaving brush

A lovely ceramic shave brush came along with a vintage ceramic shave mug and soap.

It cleaned up well using multiple borax and white vinegar soaks.

The boar bristle have a yellow orange tinge to it. There was minimal shedding and breaking.

I usually reknot a vintage brush with a badger or boar knot.

However this looks pretty user grade post the cleanup.

Questions

1) Do I use it after due sanitization ?

2) Reknot a Maggard's 20 mm badger knot ?

3) Recommend me a good boar knot !

That's up to you if you want to use it. Frankly I give it a dish soap and diluted vinegar soak for any brush I get used, and then use it after it is dry from that point on. I don't worry about it. The stuff can't live forever.

The bristles go in different directions. This is strange for a boar. I would use it and see how it behaves. If there is something strange, i would reknot.

I would give it a few spins and see what happens. If you don’t like it then slip in a new knot. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
