West coast shaving has this and it is tallow based. But is it cream or soap? Anyone used it. Their are no reviews on it. I must solve this puzzle......
People are going to chase me with pitchforks but IMO, it's better than Tabac....for ME.
I consider it a soap. A soft soap that doesn't require any special learning curve to get a lather out of. It's a lather machine. Scent is pretty much non existent....soapy I guess. It does no last as long as your typical milled soaps.
No fancy package or scents, just pure shaving enjoyment.
It is great stuff at a great price.

Very soft soaps -- a paste or cream -- are made with larger percentages of potassium hydroxide than hard soaps, which usually have more sodium hydroxide. Potassium hydroxide soap absorbs water more easily and thus is easier to produce as a paste or cream.
Thank you, Mr, Wizard.

I also love this product. The lather is thick, very slick, and I really like the almond scent. I will say that I found its red tub to be too small, especially if you are using a larger brush. I would recommend transferring it to a larger container. Putting it in a larger container was a huge improvement for me. Since it's a softer soap, it's easily removed and molded to whatever container you choose without the need to heat it or grate it.
So, do you just swirl the damp brush right in the tub? I tried lathering using it like any other cream, but it didn't work out well...
