Cella Question

Is there any difference between the 150g tub Cella and the 1000g block? Other than the obvious size and packaging differences? On some sites I see the 150g tub referred to as Cella Shave Cream/Soap and the 1000g block seems to always be referred to as Cella Shave Soap. Are they the same exact product just in different size and packaging?

Thank
Bill

Those in the know say that there is a slight difference between the two (giving the nod to the block), even though the ingredients are the same. I'm sure Marco will chime in at some point.

If I understand correctly , they are close , but not quite the same . The proportions of the ingredients are slightly different.

Paul is correct, they are definitely not the same. They are both croaps, but the red tub leans more towards being a cream, and the brick leans more towards being a soap. The brick is a little bit firmer, has a lighter fragrance, and a thicker lather.

I believe there is a slight difference between the brick and the red tub. I noticed on the Italian Barber website that they sell the brick, the red tub and also a small tub containing a chunk of the brick. I have the red tub and it's excellent; however, when that runs out, I'll be ordering a chunk of the brick to try out the difference for myself.

I've been using the red tub and really love the stuff and I wondered myself if there would be much difference.
Easy test, so I ordered a 125ml tub of cella to find out. Just came today.

It also gave me a chance to get a few .99 cent samples of RazoRock XX.

So far my favorite soap has be Valobra, so my own test of the Cella will be interesting

So many soaps, so little time...............

As some have noted, there seem to be slight differences. I have both, using the red tub for travel and the brick for supplying my scuttles, etc. The Cella in the red tub feels slightly softer and creamier to the touch, but I haven't noticed any real differences in lathering up and shaving.

Thanks everyone, especially, Marco for the link to the older thread on this subject. Very informative. I have the Red tub on the way to me from IB and I am looking forward to trying it out. Like others have said even with all the love that Cella gets, I did not want to commit to the 1kilo brick until I tried the smaller more affordable Red Tub first.

Resistance is futile. Resign yourself to the fact that you will be buying the 1Kg brick, and probably long before you are finished with the red tub. :001_rolle

then this is a perfect soap, because i thought the smell was too strong on the cherry side with the bowl

That's funny, after trying it this morning I came to the conclusion that the brick has a more pronounced scent than the red bowl.
Not heavy cherry though, more almond with that hint of cherry but the aroma hung in there while lathering.

The red bowl scent seemed to almost disappear after I lathered.

I'm sure it can vary from batch to batch, age, when cut, and from nose to nose.

as far as I'm concerned though, I prefer the Cella cut from the block,
