Thank you! Popular with bumble bees and butterflies this time of year and during the winter months the seed heads attract birds, Goldfinches especially seem to appreciate them.

I could see the resemblance but it doesn't look exactly the same. I don't think I'm quite in the range of that plant either, though this specimen was on city property that is landscaped to some extent so it was likely planted.

Those berries look identical to Firethorne.
Man, that's a hard call, but I think you are right about it. Sounds like a good tree for an old man to plant, I'm too old to see an oak mature, lol! I'm also in zone 5ish. 6 might be pushing it for me, but it is beautiful, and sounds like a good bush/tree for birds.... Thanks for the education brother!
