What's new

Castle Forbes

I have been shaving with Castle Forbes exclusively for about 3 weeks now. I have not found a soap or cream that compares to CF for lather and comfort. I really love the scents as well. At first I wasn't sure about the Cedar and Sandalwood but it has really grown on me.

I like the AS balms as well. They are very soothing.

Sounds good John. IMHO there are loads of great creams and soaps out there, but I am yet to try the offerings from CF. Something to look forward to, I'm sure.

That is exactly my opinion, too.
Castle Forbes is simply the very best shaving cream available on the market.
Truly outstanding.
It can't compare.

What's your lathering technique for it?

I take a peanut size of cream with my finger and press it carefully in my bowl for about 20-30 seconds to reduce its density.
Also, doing so, I avoid to have those annoying hard chunks of cream moving around the bowl, which are difficult to smash with your brush.
Then I start lathering in the bowl and, as soon as a small lather appears, I proceed lathering on my face.
I always get an incredible good lather with this technique.:wink2:

Just ordered some CF, this week.... my first "encounter" with this company....
I'm on the "look out" for it...:thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:

I actually bowl lather with it. I put a very small dollop, maybe half an almond in the bowl and then lather with a fairly wet brush. I find using a boar brush works best. Occasionally I have to add a bit more water but the CF usually just bursts into lather. I then swirl on my face.

I do the same. I have a boar and a two band super badger Both work well. The boar requires a double dip in water and the stiffness whips up the lather fast. The badger is softer, but holds more water, and takes about 15 seconds longer to whip up a 3 pass lather. about 45 seconds does it.

I thought I was very much a soap shaver but just purchased CF Limes and WOW! Best lather ever compared to soaps in my rotation- GFT, Floris and Harris.
Completed my 4th shave with CF this morning and wanting the lavender most definitely. I now exclusively face lather. Can't be doing with that bowl any longer.

CF Lavender is the best cream i have ever used, this stuff just explodes with flavour(!) you just need very little, then as Marco says above, put some in a mug and smear it around a little before going at it with your brush. it is both fabulously lathery and has some serious scent going on!

I was at Whole Foods last night and sniffed some cedar essential oil. It was very nice. If that's what the CF cedarwood/sandalwood cream smells like, I think I would like it. I can see a purchase is in order.

I purchased the Cedarwood/Sandalwood not being familiar with the fragrance. Amazing! I got lucky with that pick. I know some guys do not enjoy it as much as I do, but I've got some kind of physiological addiction to this stuff. Can't get enough of it, now I have a backup tub of the C/S and also a tub of Lavender. Undoubtedly right up there among the world's best. I didn't say THE best, just that it's among the best! :wink2::wink2:

Promised her that I wouldn't make another purchase for the next couple of months.....

Still get to watch the NBA and NHL!!!

Just out of interest, how much CF would you say you have gotten through in that time?
