What's new

Castle Forbes Cedar Sandalwood

I tried this soap out today for the first time. I got interested in it when I received a sample of the ASB and liked the smell.

I didn't use all that much soap, not quite an almond, and ended up with mounds of slick lather. I felt like it gave a great cushion, lots of protection, and moisturized my face well.

For fun I used the SCS Sandalwood ASL (which does have some vanilla notes in it) and then put the CF Cedar Sandalwood ASB on top of that.

I've been interested in that soap for some time, as I have the Lime.

What's the scent like? Does it compare or smell similar to the AOS or Trumpers Sandalwood?

You can't beat Castle Forbes, its great stuff. :thumbup1:

I've never smelled either of those. I have Saint Charles Shaving's version and Queen Charlotte's version too.

The CF smells nothing like either of them because of the cedar in my opinion. I like the smell of cedar and if you can imagine sniffing any sandalwood soap or cream while sitting in a cedar closet you can get an idea of how it smells.

CF is a great performer and worth the price IMO. I had more success loading the brush and face lathering with it. Cedar Sandalwood is a great scent.

I have CF Lavender shaving cream and I think that it is one of the finest shaving creams on the market. The purchase price may be high, but it is a great value because of the size of the jar and the fact that it is of such high quality that it lasts a very long time and provides such luxurious shaves. Posts like this are encouraging me to try the rest of the product line. Tempting...very tempting.

Doug

I recently got a good deal on a trade and now have all three- Lime, Sandalwood, and Lavender and love then all. Good stuff!
