Case Red Imp 132

Last week I ordered a Case Red Imp 132 from Superior Shave. It came in the mail today. It looks a lot better than what I expected from the pics on the web site. It hasn't been restored at all, just cleaned up and honed.

In the info they said it was a near wedge. It intrigued me to get another style of razor other than a full hollow. I'll give it a go this weekend.

I have the same razor and it's a great shaver. I can't believe how much they have gone up in price and have seen some up near $200 in the 6/8 sizes. Definitely a razor to keep and get a good polish on it but don't replace the scales, that's the main attraction on razor.

This is a 5/8 and was reasonably priced. I must have looked at this razor for a month before buying it. For what ever reason it was calling my name :biggrin1:

Oh yeah, I saw it too. It was a great price and doesn't look like it needs much work.

Had a chance to use the Red Imp this morning. It's a really nice shaver. This is the first wedge for me and it was a tad different not hearing any feedback from the razor. It was a very comfortable shave though. Makes me want to find another wedge to add to the rotation.

On the down side, the pivot pin is looser than I would like. I tried tapping it to tighten it up but it didn't seem to work very well. I might have it re-pinned. Either way it's a keeper.

I was looking at this one too but was hoping for something in newer condition. I narrowly missed one on the BST that was in immaculate shape.

Anyway, if anybody wants to part with one, take a look at my signature!

I've got a restored one. It has the scales replaced but the blade is in great condition. Haven't tried it out yet.

So many razors, only one face.
