Case for EJ89L

Is there a travel case that would hold my EJ89L safe and secure for traveling? I don't care what it's made of as long as it fits my razor. I have looked around and haven't found anything that would fit the bill.

Depending HOW safe and secure you need it to be, there is a leather sheath made for the Futur that would probably fit - but since it's only leather, it doesn't really give much protection against impact.

It's nice, but where would I get it?

Smallflower has them. They sell items for Mertz Apothecary in Chicago. That's where I got mine.

Be careful of the leather "snap" close cases, the back side of the snap rests against the razor in the case and can cause scratches.

I'm in the same boat breadstick. Other than the two suggestions I've seen a video on youtube by mantic59 where her used a travel case designed for a cartridge razor like this one:

You have room to put a pack of blades in there as well.

I've heard another suggestion of a plastic travel soap container and wrap your razor in something to pad it. I'm still looking. I like the case listed above but I don't want to spend that much on one.

As for the leather cases, I've read a review about the Muhle case listed above and a criticism was that it is lined with vinyl which cracks. Amazon has one made by another manufacturer which is a couple $ less and is all leather. The one on Amazon also has criticisms about the snap scratching the razor but the new models have remedied the problem by lining it with felt.

I'm still undecided but considering the leather case or a platic by radius.

I've got one by Merkur for my Futur, and the back side of the snap is covered by leather on the inside, no danger of scratching.

Where did you get the sheath? There's one on Amazon and some reviewers said the metal is covered and some say it's not...I emailed the seller asking whether it's covered or not but no reply.

I also use the Radius case. It's nothing fancy, but it works to transport any of my razors including my DE89. I recently picked up this Hoffritz case which works for the shorter handled razors in my collection, but the DE89l's handle is too long, and the Fatboys head is too fat. If I want to bring the DE89 wit me I can always put the Bull Mastiff handle on it, and then it'll fit in the Hoffritz case.
