Curiosity got the better of me!
I thought Id try just one more shave with the Gillette Fusion power.
I had (and still have) no intention of returning to the cartridge system at all, it was just one of those spur of the moment thoughts that we all have and I suppose mostly we sensibly ignore, but I decided to go with it
I didnt go the whole way and use the canned gloop too, there are limits you know so I prepared as I would for a DE shave and face lathered with TOBS sandalwood using a Simpson special brush. And commenced a three pass shave WTG, XTG, ATG. The process felt rather odd. It tugged and dragged a little and the razor itself felt far too big in my hand. I started with short strokes but it seems almost designed to force you into longer ones. It couldnt be called uncomfortable; it was almost a mechanical process. In short there was no enjoyment or finesse in this shave at all.
The results were surprisingly good, BBS on my cheeks but not as good around my chin or neck.
I return to DE tomorrow!
Cheers
