I have read that S2000 is being reintroduced for 2019.

Its little sibling the Honda S660 looks interesting, but is not imported into USA. Picture below:

A girlfriend had a 2006. It was a fun little car.

I almost bought a Toyota MR2 years ago, but it was just too small. Fun though. Another friend has a 1986 Pontiac Fiero with quite a bit of work done to it. Its a fun drive too.

This was my previous car. I bought it used. It had been lowered and an exhaust put on.
It was loud. Its was fun for a year or two but like Essox said, it got old. Got a more sensible Golf Gti after that.

I'm kinda in the camp of wanting a car that can perform, but is very civilized until I want it not to be. Wife and I will be doing some road trips and she will definitely not appreciate a throaty exhaust note.

The best choices I think are the BMW M3 and M5 with the AMG CLK63/65.

Maserati's are nice, but when it comes time to fix Italian cars it can get costly in a hurry.

Where I live there is no Maserati dealership or Italian car specialist. I would end up with a 2-hour tow if it broke down.

A quick look around your area gave me this: Pre-Owned 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 65 AMG® Base RWD 4D Sedan

Engine: AMG® 6.0L V12 SMPI SOHC 36V Bi-Turbocharged

Its not a CLK, but it might be worthy of a test drive. I would suspect though that the dealer has a pretty good hotline across the US so if you go in and talk to them they can find you what you're looking for once you do decide.

That sort of thing carries across all dealerships and even some of the better used car lots here. The people in them usually have more pies to put fingers in than fingers lol.

Assuming you do end up looking at a Mercedes, theres also Brabus, but the prices increase pretty quickly.

Whether or not someone local to you is capable or willing to work on something like a temperamental Italian is a different story.
