Can't shave without scarring myself

Thank you guys, bought today Gillette SkinGuard and did first shave after shower now.
It took me around 20 min to shave but I'm so glad that I haven't noticed any new scar that appeared.
Didn't put any pressure with the blade, I was super slow and gentle.
I did 3 WTG passes every part of my face, it did miss some long hair around my face but I guess that I can't enjoy both worlds, but I prefer uneven shave then a permanent scar on my face :)

If you have any tips for me to make a better shave(not closer, but more even on all of the sides), I will be glad to hear
Thank you again for the recommendation, and I hope that it will keep that way :)

Agree wholeheartedly try the Gillette Skinguard.....I find it amazingly smooth and irritation free...it does not shave as close as I like, but first things first you need to shave without scars. Also, try a 3 pass shave. - with the grain, across the grain, than against the grain....if I skip the cross grain pass my skin gets irritated also, but not with three passes. If your still getting irritation and scarring, make the second pass cross grain and forget against the grain pass altogether. As a general rule the thicker the lather the less irritation but the less close the shave, so play around to see what works best for you.
i find the skinguard doesn't shave close enough. Compared to my flex5 it's night and day.

Glad to hear that it went well. This guy does a good demonstration with it.... Talks about how it works and shows how to use it.

@DorN so in the end what did your dermatologist say? Is it a skin condition that you have or a just a lack of experience / bad shaving technique.

Assuming the later (and apologies if I'm wrong) I hate to tell you you're pursuing smth. that is just not there and will never happen. Many of us older gents have been there, done that... shaved with cartridge razors and canned goo for decades never ever to have a clean, smooth BBS shave.

The more traditional you go, the less irritation you will have. If you're cutting yourself, it's your technique, not the razor. There is no "perfect razor", there's only poor technique. It's a little bit like a drinking problem - unless you admit it's a problem, you'll never think of yourself as being a drunk. The first step is understanding what can and cannot be done. The second step is realizing how smth. can be done best. That said - smooth shave with a cartridge cannot be achieved. The smoothest shave you'll ever have will be with a traditional SR, hot towel face prep and lather build from quality soap/cream. It's not for everyone, as it takes time and effort. Results nonetheless are second to none.

The very best alternative to that old school SR shave is called Feather Artist Club razor and more so the SS type. That will give you the closest, smoothest, irritation free shave imaginable, without having to bother with honing and stropping.

Enjoy the ride! :)

This guy sucks. I watched several of his videos and his face is always RED as a chili peppers after each shave, no matter what razor he uses. He doesn't shave, he scrapes himself. Add this dude to the list of how-NOT-to-shave videos.

I sincerely hope you find the right combination of things to get some relief and achieve a result you find agreeable. There has been considerable advice in this thread, all with good and supportive intentions. I guess the pre/post ritual, razor, blade, soap/cream, brush-no brush and technique decisions are part of your discovery. For what it’s worth, I chose comfort over closeness. That said, I can get close shaves that are irritation free. I mostly do a single WTG pass, adjusting the razor to accommodate hair pattern growth which changes dramatically below my jawline. I will not achieve BBS this way, but that is not my intention. Im satisfied with beard reduction when my end goal of comfort is achieved. Like I said; for what it’s worth? Hope you can find a solution.

I must say that I'm really thankful for every single person that replied here and helped me.

I can only visit the dermatologist next month, but you guys recommended me to go with the Gillette SkinGuard
and it's great so far!

No irritation, no scars that I'm aware of, shaving isn't as close as my E shaver because I'm not going against the grain, but I'm happy with the results as long it's not scars my face :)
I hope it will keep this way.

Thank you guys :)
