Canadian Fragrance Purchasers: Where to buy?

Where (online) are the Canadians ordering their fragrances from?

I've been denied by UK and USA vendors because they are not allowed to ship alcohol-containing products to Canada.

This rule is a bummer. Is Canada the only country with such a rule? I hear it goes back to prohibition times.

I'm finding my options to be pretty limited here.

I'd be curious to know how other Canadians are importing their colognes and EdTs and whether there is a good vendor with some variety in Canada (outside of Italianbarber and Fendrihan, both of which I am familiar with). Or are you guys mainly purchasing locally or abroad?

Do not have an answer (not in Canada), but am curious if this "rule" has to do with air shipment, surface shipment, or both. Also if you pop over to Basenotes, I see a number of Canadians listing fragrances for sale. Perhaps you could get more info there.

Thanks! I didn't know that people were selling fragrances on basenotes. I'll join the forum.

I will have read the rules to see whether surface shipments are allowed. I suspect surface shipments of alcohol-containing products is fine, but then there is the wait time, increased risk of lost package, and no protection . . .

Rebos, once on Basenotes, go to the Internet Shopping and City Shopping Guide section, scroll down to Canada and read what the folks there have to say.

I've ordered from Fragrancenet a couple of times, no problems. I don't quite understand the rule to be honest, it seems like some places can ship fragrances fine and other places just aren't allowed to.

Fragrancenet is good. I've purchased from them before, but shipped to the USA.

You want a laugh? Go try to order from Bond No. 9 website.
The shipping to Canada is $150. Most likely because of the dangerous goods thingy.

I have not tried it but when online shopping I found fragrancex and they have different currencies listed so I assume they ship to Canada...

Some online distributors ship to Canada, some don't. For that reason I keep a US PO box.
