Can you switch out G-shock bands?

I got a G-shock today but I'm not in love with the band. I got the AWG-101 and the band is sort of uncomfortable and too long for my small wrist. Does anyone know where I can get a good replacement band for my watch? I'm looking for maybe a black military looking woven band or a casual leather band.

Thanks for the replies. The adapters xillion posted might work but my model isn't listed as one that it will work for.

I've done the adapter thing to 24mm web bands -- shown here. I like it for this style of watch. If you find one of those leather NATO-style straps, it would likely work with these adapters (though, it my be too thick). Personally, I think nylon webbing looks good with an otherwise plastic watch.

YMMV.

I've got my trusty Tough Solar G-Shock G-2300 and was wondering the same thing. I want to put one of those zulu/maratac bands on it.

I went a different way with my G-Shock. I had an extra "The Band" velcro strap sitting around, and I melted notches in it in a few key places to narrow the strap so it would fit in the strap connectors on the G-Shock. I did this with a hot stovetop, but I'm sure there are better ways. Once they cooled down, I shoved the narrow sections into the spring bar holders and pushed the spring bars in place.

The thing about doing this is that the already thick watch body sits off of your wrist another 3mm or so with the strap going under it. Either way, I like this better than the rubber watch band that came with it. I may do the same mod to a buckle strap down the road; I just don't see myself using those big adapters you can buy from countycomm. They are expensive ($12 + shipping right now) and look bulky and uncomforable. For a watch I only spent $50 on, I don't see myself buying those adapters, but maybe I'll change my mind down the road.

Does anyone know if there is a way to put a leather band on this watch?

It looks like the band is just notched at the leg end, so it should be pretty easy to notch a standard leather band in a similar fashion. I do leatherwork, so just let me know if I can assist.
