Can I take a DE razor and blades onto a cruise ship? How about a pocket knife?

I'm driving to Los Angeles in a couple of days, where I will board a Princess Cruise to Cabo San Lucas. This is my first cruise, and I haven't flown since 2002, before I resumed using a DE razor. It's not clear to me whether I can take a DE razor and blades in my luggage. The cruise apparently works something like an airline flight, where you have both checked and carryon luggage.

The company includes the following in their list of prohibited items:

Knives with a blade over 6.35 cm (2 ½ inches) or ½ inch at widest point. This includes bladed weapons, sharp pointed weapons, daggers, sabers, swords, axes, ice axes, hatchets, straight razors (shaving safety razors are allowed), razor blades not in a cartridge, box cutters, ice picks, meat cleavers and utility knives.

So according to this, safety razors are allowed, but the razor blades are not? What if the blades are in a dispenser? I was planning to take a really cheap plastic Dorco PL602 razor, so I wouldn't care if it got confiscated, but I don't want to hold up the process, and it wouldn't work anyway if I can't have blades.

Also, what about my pocket knife? I normally carry a small folding non-locking knife around with me for the everyday things that come up like cutting fruit or cheese or opening packages. The blade is less than 6.35 cm, so it technically would be allowed, but I wouldn't want to risk having it confiscated.

I'm inclined to just take a disposable razor like a Bic and a cheap fingernail type knife in my toiletry items just in case, but any input on this would be appreciated.

Edit:
The cruise ship may be a little more restrictive in that restrictions apply to checked baggage as well as carryon, I guess because unlike on an airplane, you can open checked baggage in passage:

Guests are advised not to bring any prohibited items to the ship. Prohibited items will not be allowed or stored onboard the vessel with no exceptions. Guests are fully responsible for either storing these items ashore or disposing of them prior to embarkation.
That makes sense. I would hate to see a lunitic running down the hall with a shavette.

I haven't been on a cruise since 9/11 but it would seem the easiest and most accurate info would be to call the cruise line them.selves . It is tricky since you're in the U.S. but will soon be out of U.S. territory where they could care less. Also when you ca!l get a name and ask them to email the confirmation so you can show it when you board. If they refuse then email the company and ask so you get a reply back.

Did the same, and was pleased that souvenir Ulu knives were ok, somehow! They did xray stuff brought back on the ship. Bought tourist ones for co-workers, a hand made custom for this bladehound! All made it home safe.

Thank you! I couldn't remember the name Ulu to save my life!

Yes. Just like flying; bags get xrayed ... Think they are looking for booze bottles, too! Seems wrong.

Booze Bottles? Don't cruises include booze all you can drink?

Most cruise lines don't make enough profit based only on the fares they charge. They have a huge "captive audience" and push all kinds of other things on passengers. There are casinos, excursions, gift shops, etc. They make tons of money on alcohol based on it being tax-free/duty-free when offshore. If you want unlimited drinks, you can buy a package for that for maybe $50-70 per day. It's not really unlimited, but the limit is high enough most people won't reach it. The bartender or waiter can tell you that you've had enough already. You can also buy overpriced wine, etc. at dinner.

No. You can bring 1-2 wines or certain amount of booze.

Evilly, they xray bags and fine you - i think - depends on cruiseline.

Done Alaska once, so a more experienced cruiser can tell more.

We were told one bottle per person per port. That was on Princess. Other lines may have different limits.

I'm back. I'm afraid that I can't verify that a DE razor and pocket knife would be OK, since this being my first cruise I decided to leave them home at the last minute. I didn't want to risk any possibility of a hold-up or a discussion with an overzealous screener. Small pocket knives are allowed, but still....

By the time I was in Los Angeles, I realized that the thing to do would have been to bring my modern-looking Type L Schick injector. "Safety razors" are allowed. It looks pretty much like a cartridge razor and doesn't have an obviously removable blade. I can't imagine that it would be a problem, and a fresh blade should last the length of a cruise.

The cruise line seemed very organized, with lots of staff, and they want things to go smoothly for the passengers.

I looked at a drink package, and it wouldn't have paid off, even though the drinks on board seemed a little expensive to me. I'm not up on current drink prices at a resort type place, though. Regular coffee is free (and pretty good), but we did buy a coffee package for espresso type drinks like caffe latte. The limit, like the alcohol package, was very high. We weren't able to use up all of the allowance.
