Can I take a DE razor and blades onto a cruise ship? How about a pocket knife?

I'm driving to Los Angeles in a couple of days, where I will board a Princess Cruise to Cabo San Lucas. This is my first cruise, and I haven't flown since 2002, before I resumed using a DE razor. It's not clear to me whether I can take a DE razor and blades in my luggage. The cruise apparently works something like an airline flight, where you have both checked and carryon luggage.

The company includes the following in their list of prohibited items:

Knives with a blade over 6.35 cm (2 ½ inches) or ½ inch at widest point. This includes bladed weapons, sharp pointed weapons, daggers, sabers, swords, axes, ice axes, hatchets, straight razors (shaving safety razors are allowed), razor blades not in a cartridge, box cutters, ice picks, meat cleavers and utility knives.

So according to this, safety razors are allowed, but the razor blades are not? What if the blades are in a dispenser? I was planning to take a really cheap plastic Dorco PL602 razor, so I wouldn't care if it got confiscated, but I don't want to hold up the process, and it wouldn't work anyway if I can't have blades.

Also, what about my pocket knife? I normally carry a small folding non-locking knife around with me for the everyday things that come up like cutting fruit or cheese or opening packages. The blade is less than 6.35 cm, so it technically would be allowed, but I wouldn't want to risk having it confiscated.

I'm inclined to just take a disposable razor like a Bic and a cheap fingernail type knife in my toiletry items just in case, but any input on this would be appreciated.

Edit:
The cruise ship may be a little more restrictive in that restrictions apply to checked baggage as well as carryon, I guess because unlike on an airplane, you can open checked baggage in passage:

Guests are advised not to bring any prohibited items to the ship. Prohibited items will not be allowed or stored onboard the vessel with no exceptions. Guests are fully responsible for either storing these items ashore or disposing of them prior to embarkation.

Cruised in Sept. As long as you pack your DE razor and blades in a checked bag for the airlines you are okay and cruise line didn’t question the razor. Shaved for 11 days with my DE on the ship.

I have taken four cruises on the Princess line. I have never had a problem with razor blades in checked baggage. In fact, I leave my DE out in the bathroom. I also pack a Buck folding knife in my shaving kit. I would not carry it on in your pocket since you have to go through a metal detector (at least I have in the last cruises). This is what my knife looks like.

In 2017, I took an Alaskan cruise on Princess. DE gear was` not a problem, nor was a Victorinox Super Tinker pocket knife in my cabin. I didn't carry it around with me. In Ketchikan, I purchased a couple of souveneir knives ($6.00 each or two for $5.00 - no, that's not a typo.) They just asked that I keep them in my cabin rather than on my person. I have no idea if they've changed since then.

Thank you all for your responses. It looks like the consensus is that none of these items would be a problem. I'll let you know how things went when I get back. This is going to be a while, since I did not sign up for onboard WiFi.

You better get at least two LED flashlights...
Have a nice trip.!

Thank you. I always carry an LED flashlight with me, along with a pen, knife, and comb. It often comes in handy.

I work at a cruise terminal off duty (I am a cop). I also cruise frequently. I've traveled with DE, shavettes and regular straights with no problems. I always have them in my checked luggage.
As for the pocket knife that's a no-go, at least where I work.

Did the same, and was pleased that souvenir Ulu knives were ok, somehow!

They did xray stuff brought back on the ship.

Bought tourist ones for co-workers, a hand made custom for this bladehound! All made it home safe.

I usually carry one of several Swiss army knives, but wouldn't want to risk losing any of them to a cruise. Leave it at home if it has sentimental value. One is mine I got in boy scouts, the other was my grandfather's. And I also have the nail clipper one, but I think the blade on that one would meet their criteria as being 👌

I concur that you should have no problem but why not take one or two disposable razors/cartridges (if you already have them). Worst case, they confiscate the blades (though obviously they would not make you give up your bladeless DE).

My wife and I have been on 5 cruises so far. I took my DE razor, pack of blades, and other shaving supplies on each one. These were left out in plain view in our cabin's bath area. No challenge was issued by the ship's custodial or security crew staff. I also took a very small Buck pocket knife, again no problems.

I'm a regular cruiser and I've never had a problem with razor blades. I always put them in my main luggage not hand luggage.
No idea about a pocket knife I've never taken one

Question: I've never been on a cruise, so what some of ya'll are saying is that when you check-in at the ship you check your luggage just like the airlines?

Yes. Just like flying; bags get xrayed ... Think they are looking for booze bottles, too! Seems wrong.

Similar process. You can carry a small piece of lluggage with you. You have to go through a metal detector and your bag gets X-rayed. Your main luggage gets checked. They X-ray it, may inspect it, then it is brought to your cabin for you.

That makes sense. I would hate to see a lunitic running down the hall with a shavette.
