Can anyone tell me about this razor and interesting box?

Hi, I just picked this up at an antique store in Wales Uk for £10. Could you tell me anything about it? How old is it, any history etc? Its straight, in fairly decent condition and the edge looks ok so I plan to reset the bevel when I get it home and shave with it. It came in an interesting box which I’m sure isn’t the original one it came in but it must be quite old as it used to contain two razors and was priced at one guinea. I just googled a guinea and it was a quarter ounce of gold minted between 1663 and 1814 so it must be at the very least over 200 years old. A quarter ounce today costs around £300 UK. Do you know anything about that box too? All help is greatly appreciated.

Although guinea coins had not been made for a long time, prices often continued to be shown in guineas until British prices became decimal in 1971. A guinea was worth £1,1s (one pound and one shilling). This is the same as £1.05 in modern money.

Because a guinea was close to a pound, putting prices in guineas made the price seem less. A price of 39 guineas might look like "about £39". In fact it is nearly £41. Prices in guineas were traditionally used for luxury goods before decimalisation.

:clap::clap::clap::clap: Depends on how old the shop owner is, but still a fantastic score....

Thanks for that, I just cleaned it, set the bevel then sharpened it up I’ll give it a test run this morning and see how it goes.

Thanks I just emailed a guy from Germany who has a website on these razors, he dates it around 1924-1930 maybe a touch earlier. Nothing about the box though.
I gave it a test run this morning and wow what a smooth shave.
Lathered with Proraso green soap and as I cut I just began to smile. It was so smooth and so close and I got a brilliant shave. Considering that when I bought it it wouldn’t even shave arm hair this is a great result for me. Looking forward to using it again tomorrow.
