I could NEVER believe that Rave. You've got to be kidding, right? You may not believe it, but I might tend to be a bit biased about Fatips at times.

So it's looking like another steepish learning curve ahead for the near future... and in true B&B fashion I've (again) thrown the 'M' in my signature to the wind.
Thank you Cal for a reasoned assessment. I feel much better now. I've heard rumors that some might think I'm obsessive about them. It almost threw me into self doubt. That would be crazy, right?I could NEVER believe that Rave. You've got to be kidding, right?
Correct!That would be crazy, right?

Brush: Shavemac 22/47 Silvertip 2-Band
Soap: Vitos 'Red'
Razor: Fatip Lo Storto Originale
Blade: Wizamet Iridium Super (3)
ASL: Proraso Red
Another great shave (Lo Storto #3). I still have a way to go 'cuz . One thing I didn't mention before was that I love the handle with the twisted fluting, far superior to the standard Grande vertical fluting IMO.
+1Now I've "got" to catch up with this one, plus there's The Wanderes Journey, Milkcrate, Rustyblade....well, you get the idea.

That locating pin has always been at a slight angle. I now see why. The angle didn't bother me as Fatip's QC is still questionable at the best of times; but their razors are usually built like tanks.
I've emailed Connaught.
Six shaves into a Fixed Four... shucks. An identical back-up razor is something I definitely hadn't considered.
I am NOT going to buy another Gentile of any sort. I've never soldered anything in my life Rave (and I'm doing my best to avoid any further rabbit holes ).They still have the Gentile in stock. The cap will be the same, or you could solder the pin.
Will do.Please keep us informed.

If they have a stash I'm sure Paul at Connaught will send me one, he's an OK guy. They could get you a cap from their stash...
I haven't ever soldered anything either. Heck, I can't even spell it correctly.I am NOT going to buy another Gentile of any sort. I've never soldered anything in my life Rave (and I'm doing my best to avoid any further rabbit holes ).

My first Schöne had that happen after one shave.SOTD
