I had a passion for modding my previous stangs but being a full time tech and seeing them every single day with various problems I don't even want to see one when I get out of work nor even talk about them . When I hear people talking about mods and fixing stuff up I get away from the convo lol . All set

My 1998 Honda Civic EX. My plan is to make enough horsepower to merge onto Interstate without shutting off the A/C (and also having fun with it). Shown in the pic is my Uncle Bruce, who has been instrumental in not only helping me obtain the car, but to help me overcome the problems I've run across. Here, we were installing a new exhaust system, as the stock one developed rust holes in the muffler. I tried to get a cat-back exhaust for it, but it turns out the catalytic converter was stolen before I bought it. The previous owner welded in a second resonator (weld started on the header and ended on the exhaust pipe), so we had to rip out the entire thing and install new headers from DC, a Megan Racing midpipe, and a Yonaka touring exhaust (the quietest one I could find). My car may not be the fastest or the flashiest, but it's mine and I like it.

Fridays are Fishtastic!
I would say my 83FXE, but I don't have to mess with it much. I have to readjust the solid lifters twice a year, and do oil changes, but that is about it.

I have a motorcycle...a '67 Matchless G15 CS (Competition Spring) 750cc Scrambler. I don't think many know what this is...but they were built in limited numbers , primarily for racing in the US desert....ie; Mojave in the 60's. They were also known as Desert Sleds.

Racing across the desert back then was a big sport, now discontinued due to environmental concerns.

Anyways it has a Norton 750 cc twin cylinder, twin Amal carbs, sports cams, skid plate under crankcase fitted into a light Matchless frame. It has beefed up, extended Norton Roadholder forks, low gearing which limits top speed to about 110 mph, quick detach headlamp, English Lyta aluminum racing gas tank (quick release-flip- gas cap) and a bunch of other things...all factory.

They were also used in drag racing and in '65 one (a Norton N15CS), I believe was the AHRA motorcycle open class champion.

Norton also had a model...same deal...different badging...the N15CS.

I'm restoring it....to my eye's a beautiful, unusual motorcycle.

I had to buy a new set of open ended wrenches and a socket set, also some special tools...all British Whitworth measurement.

I also have a '78 Yamaha SR 500cc single. Had it since April, 1978. # 209 off the assembly line.

I wrench, hammer, grind, torch, cut, weld, burn, bend, break, press, lube, but I am usually polishing a turd or keeping the family vehicles tip top.

I used to have a 1989 Toyota 4x4 pickup that I did alot of work to and had tons of fun with. Then kids came...

Some great bikes here. Especially love the fact you kept color on it oc. Everyone seems to black them out these days.

You can still have fun with kids Jagger. Maybe not as much time as you used too though. Truck needs a little more snow splashed on it for my tastes.

I am going to repaint soon, but the frame and primary color will remain white. Like you say, you don't see many HDs that are white.

Yeah I sold the truck; car seats dont fit... Now I have a 98 4runner project truck.

There was not alot of snow that year so I could drive anywhere I wanted to on the lakes, it was nice. My Mexican friend got a kick out of driving on a lake that day to go ice climbing.

I love the beautiful simplicity of a thumper. Any pics?

Sorry I don't know how to put the photos on the internet. My kids have tried to show me a couple of times....but being an old fogey and not good with computers ...I have never caught on how to do it.

It's 'Star Red'. The '78 SR (Street Roadster) 500's (first year of production) came in two colours....Star Red like mine and 'Black Gold'...which was black. These paint names for the SR were a play on the model name of the BSA 500cc single Goldstar.

The big 500cc single of the Yamaha was a 'homage' design of the British 500cc singles that preceded it....notably the BSA Goldstar....the Manx Norton and the Matchless G80.

I can go on forever about the SR 500...temperamental starting....until you get the knack, kick start only...it's a torquey engine....not a high HP bike...handling, light weight, braking and that easy torquey acceleration.

I'm keeping it till the end....got it at 28....I'm now 63. :biggrin1:

Thanks for asking about it...sorry I'm no good with computers re; posting a pix.
