Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Succumbing to the peer pressure of the guys at work, I went out and bought this game for the PS3 last week for the online play. I have never been very good at first person shooters, and in the past they have become rather redundant. However, I played through the game on campaign mode, and it was fun and challenging, without being completely impossible. It also was beautiful in HD.

I also started playing online with my friends, and it is also quite a bit of fun. If anybody wants to add me as a friend on PS3, my username is JayhawkSheff .

Anybody else playing this?

Ironically, I asked for an XBOX 360 for Christmas. I haven't bought a game console in years, and since my wife is prego...this may be the last "Chris-gift" I get....this game was #1 on my list.

Unfortunately, I can't you up as the two are not compatible...but I've heard so much about the game I can't pass it up!

Yup, picked it up the day it came out! I was worried that it may hit a little too close to home since it is "modern" but the story lines are fictitious enough that it hasn't bothered me.

Its a great game so far.

I'm gonna wait for the hype to go down as well.

It's either this or AC2. Both look to be phenomenal games.

THIS I'm considering. I enjoyed Assassin's Creed, except for the mind-numbingly repetitive nature of it. I can only eavesdrop so many conversations, steal so many secret messages, save so many helpless women, stab so many people in the spine. I DID, however, enjoy picking off guards from a distance with throwing knives. That was my favorite part of the game.

Bought it myself, but i play on the 360.

Campaign was very good, although I played on Veteran and in the moment of firefights sometimes I tended to get lost in the story. Also enjoy the co-op missions.

As far as deciding what game to play, if you enjoy multiplayer games, get MW2 first, then get AC2 later on when the price comes down. My theory is single player games can wait, whereas mp games you wanna buy when they're hot, to get the most opponents.

I'll be getting it this week. I have never been dissapointed in any of the Call Of Duty games. I sure this one won't let me down, however I did hear that campaign mode is rather short coming in at only a few hours. Any one else hear this?

My inlaws heard that I wanted the game, so they have bought it for me and will keep it safe until Christmas for me. How frustratingly nice of them.

It may be for the best as if I had it just now it would be in competition with uni work.

I have a self-imposed ban on any video game purchases for the same reason. :001_tongu

If I had a console I'd consider it, but since most of my current gaming is online on my PC I'll pass as IW basically screwed all us PC gamers (and clans) over with not supporting dedicated servers

My teenage son, who for some bad-had reason I've allowed to play this game in spite of its violent and gory nature, finished the non-online story in three hours. Clearly, you get it for the online stuff.

I hate the whole thing, but he does well in school, and all of his friends play it.

I thought the one before this one, which took place in World War II, would give him an appreciation of history. He didn't like any of it (weapons too primitive) except for the extra "zombie" levels. I guess they must have left the Great Zombie Battles out of the history books.

Preordered, and been playing since day 1 (PS3), more or less...much to the detriment of my Socom clan (we're split down the middle on the first person vs. third person perspective debate).

Great game...finished the single player campaign a few nights ago, and I'm up to like rank 54 or something online...love my ACR, my Stingers, and my Cold Blooded Pro! HATE the scourge of this game online: the Akimbo 1887s with Marathon, Lightweight, and Commando. Those people are skill-less, uncouth barbarians, lol.

Anyway, anyone feel free to add me, and I can introduce you to some cool people to play with. Also, feel free to drop by our clan site and introduce yourself...we're casual, not maniacal gamers, mostly mature (lol), don't cheat or talk crap (unless you ask for it, but we always mess with each other) and we're from all walks of life...just good people overall. We're almost four years old now, but we've all been gaming together since Socom 2, mostly. Here's a link to the clan site: Coven of Fire (CoF) (yeah, I know...lame name, BUT not my fault, lol).

As much as I hate to admit it im addicted to MW2. Its so addicting because you keep unlocking new guns, perks and titles. Also when you get the AC-130 killstreak and rain hell down on people its awesome!

I play on my Xbox 360. So anyone on Xbox Live feel free to add me. User name: LAOGHAIRE

PC Version:
SP - awesome.
MP - epic EPIC fail. Dedicated servers (programmed in the game by IW) would make it much better. Several perks & combinations are ridiculous, then the cheaters. I liked MP for the social interaction. MW2 MP fails at this....at least on PC.
