Cade shaving cream

Lately I’ve been trying out new shave creams; mostly in tubes.So I decided to buy a tube of the fancy French stuff L’Occitane Cade
I thought, “I like MDC and Pre de Povence, I’ll like this stuff too”

NOPE!!!

The smell is horrendous! Seriously it’s the smell of public bathrooms. It’s amazing that there is a market for it. I heard it said that it is a traditional French scent.

Is this what the infamous pinky’s lilac vegetal smells like?

Is there anything else out there that has this scent that I should stay away from? I’m trying not to wast another $30

I have never tried the Cade cream but the soap is pretty good stuff and the scent is not strong at all.

So I only squeezed out a little and smelled it, have not yet lathered. I’ve heard people say that the layered Proano red is different than it in a tube. Maybe Cade is the same way. I guess I’ll have to check

It's supposed to be a juniper based scent so maybe you associate that with Pinesol.

I've used the "Cade Rich" in the jar, and it does have a Noxzema cold cream smell to it, which, BTW, doesn't linger. A terrific cream in use.

I can’t detect any smell from the Cade shave soap, which is disappointing, because I really like the scent of the Cade aftershave balm. Never smelled the cream.

not a great fan of the scent, the cream is very rich and nice to use. Much prefer Crabtree and Evelin Murh
