Cade cream HELP!

Ok, I have to keep reminding myself that this is a legitimate product and there must be people who like it.
PLEASE tell me how to make a lather. I read on the review that one is to use almost no water and twice as much product. Did not work. I added a few drops of water after a minute or so, then more, then more, still not working, few drops more......ok, my arm is getting tired, I'm not a body builder. In the end I just rinsed out my scuttle and went for my Valobra.
I can't believe this product came from the makers of CADE SOAP!!!!!

As you can tell, I was a little saddened by the experience. Someone help me overcome my new archnemesis.....cade cream.

:)kyle1: Chuck Norris can make a lather with cade cream.)

This doesn't help at all, but I can't recall reading anything positive about Cade cream. The Cade soap, on the other hand, gets a lot of positive reviews.

Out of the hundreds of posts calling this the worst product ever, exactly one person said he liked it, and one or two people said that they tolerate it by superlathering it with Cade soap. So three people out of our 30,000 members like the stuff.

Can you return it? There are 3 products in the shaving world that are universally hated by virtually EVERYONE and unfortunately you bought one of them.

If I were you, I would just add a pump or two of Kiss My Face unscented to the Cade cream. That way, you could enjoy the wonderful scent of Cade (anyway, I hear that it smells delightful), and get a real lather.

I'm a huge fan of the CADE soap, but I really dislike the cream. I did everything I could to get a lather out of the stuff and nothing worked. I even tried using it brushless, which was marginally better but still not what I would call acceptable. It's too bad, because the stuff smells fantastic.

EDIT: I should also note that this is the only shaving product I've ever tossed out mostly unused.

I cannot bring myself to throw out any shaving products, except I did so with CADE cream. I use and love the soap. Hope this helps.

Wow. Is the product so new that the company doesn't know that it is terrible? I am SO confused how they keep that product stocked with performance like that.
Have people complained?

I use it and at first i had the same problem, the trick really is to use more product, more than usual you would use any other cream and add little bit more water initially then add more if need to. Once you get it, you will enjoy the lather, that is the only downfall of this product!

It has been around a while. I too could never get a decent lather out of it.

The cream is CRAP!! If you get any lather, its a miracle.

Take it back, and ask for the soap. You won't be disappointed.

Good save.:thumbup1: I received a few samples and loved the scent but of course as it has been mentioned terrible lather. This may be the only way to go if the OP can't return it.

I think its been around for some time so it is confusing. Even more confusing is that one of their best shaving products was the Cade splash and they discontinued that or at least I have not seen it for a long while. But thats another topic and don't mean to derail this thread.

Use a bit more cream and if you have hard water try using distilled or bottled water. I used to really have to work at it until I installed a water softener at my house. I really like the cream and plan on using it for my Birthday shave.

Noob question but what are the other 2?

I don't have a problem with this product AT HOME with my WATER SOFTENER. The cream has quite a bit of shea butter in it, so it takes more product to lather. I've tried using it when traveling but have been unsuccessful when in areas with hard water.

Tried this product once and found it to be utter garbage. I don't know who buys this stuff to justify keeping it in production, but someone must. Maybe it has a big following in France. They think Jerry Lewis is a comedic genius after all-maybe this stuff appeals to Joe Blow in France.

I too would like to know what the other two "universally hated" wetshaving products are. The only other "high end" product I disliked as much as the Cade is Aramis Lab Series Maximum Comfort shave cream. I think I liked it a little better than the Cade, but not by much. I'd try to lather some Ivory and shave with it before I'd try the Cade or the Aramis again.

I got CADE as a gift, so no refund. But if I can return it, what should I exchange it for?

Yes, crappy lather. Well, no lather even when using an objectionably large amount. Otherwise it's okay--scent is personal, but I thought it was okay; it does smell like juniper. Value is low because of price and quantity needed for one shave. But lather is non-existent, so this is going out or back.

I got a sample of this stuff thinking, oh it's L'occitane, it must be good. BOY was I WRONG. I needed to use 4 times as much cream as I normally do. The lather was good, but it was a ridiculous amount of product. They might as well call it latherless shaving cream, at least people wouldn't be mortified at the results then. I would suggest exchanging it for the soap. Which is fantastic, btw. Or maybe use the credit towards one of their outrageously expensive bowls if you already have the soap, or some edt. Sadly, the aftershave has been discontinued. I don't know who thought that it was a good idea to discontinue the aftershave and keep the shaving cream. I don't think they have any repeat sales on that stuff since as previously stated, it is universally hated, not even argued about like williams, just hated

EDIT: The aftershave BALMS are still made. And while pricey, are brilliant if you like thick lotion. The splash, unfortunately, is discontinued

This has been pretty much what I have heard about this product. My advice would be to try for an exchange for the soap. Even with no receipt, they are the only vendor, and have decent customer service.
